A Shady Meeting, Part Two: Green Spotted Boogaloo
Game Date: 1172-5-24
Details
We arrive at Duhm’s Rooms, Turin’s former home. It is a large Tudor framed building with multiple entrances. We go to the common area, and see a couple people down on their luck. We order drinks from the old man behind the bar. He givess a key to room 42.
We search the hall, and go to room 42. We use the key to go into the room. It is dark inside. The room has a table and two chairs and doesn’t look like it issued for much. A muscular human male asks us to shut the door. He seems young (twentyish) with shaggy long hair and very well dressed. He says he needs help with an affair of the heart. We turn on the light. On the chair is a common cloak.
“The one that I love will not have menless we can be married in a sanctified church. But we can ‘t do it in the city. ” He needs help looking for a church, and a small group to be taken there to be married. He first heard abouts when we rescued Billy. He says her family will object, his foster father might be okay, and the Young Stallions would be against it because she is from a merchant family. It would be appreciated if we can do this within a month. There is a small town (Kilwich) about 15 miles to the East that has a church that might still be sanctified.
We can leave a message with Burbas, “the finder”who hangs out near the Fountain of Porpidolphus in Thieves’ Market. “Tell him is a message for Antonio. If he has a message for you, he will send it to the Giggling Griffon.”
We return to the Griffon. Our dots are teal. There is a centaur cab parked outside. Porky rushes to greets. He says that something happened in the City of the Dead, a former cemetery turned into a park and the cab is from Lyza to takes.
During the ride, the centaur is going as fast as they can, going around North Caravan street, we lurch onto two wheels, and feel a familiar lurch. We come to walkingp studio lane, the park on our left. It seems calm. We see several watch members. Some seem pale, others queasy.
Just inside the front gates is a small hut and the watch sergeant. There were three members of The Jackals gang who were murdered. We go look at the morgue. There are three bodies laid out. Probably a tiefling, human, and dwarf. They have been stabbed and slashed all over. Their faces look like they have been crushed in a vice. The consensus is that they were a group of grave robbers who stumbled onto something they shouldn ‘t have. Martin suggests the other guards get a priest to cast gentle repose.
We go to examine the scene. Arada and Penelope try to recreate what happened. Turin looks for tracks. Turn notices a glow globe is glowing a different color, much brighter than the others. It looks like this is the end of a running battle. The prints are all shod, no animals, probably the victims.
Eugene ritual casts Detect Magic, Martin stays with him while the rest move on. There are several more blood areas ahead. The driftglobes are magic. Except for three near a large statue of a fallen warrior. Which engage in combat. One zaps Eugene. Turin shoots it and hurts it badly. The battle rages, with the Will O Wisps doing damage, and the party hitting back (turns out they are hard to hit). But we eventually prevail.
We continue to follow the blood. There is blood splatter heading into the @UUID[JournalEntry. iPnt7WOtvXE2MT01]{Geronde family mausoleum}. “What you fear, we master.” Outside is a diorama of many classic monsters.
The family goes back to the founding of Haven. Ekhan Geronde was the founder of the family, maybe 5 generations back. They were monster slayers, including a red dragon. The current matriarch, Roweena is bringing the family back, especially through her role as an enchantress. The door was broken from the outside, probably by the grave robbers.
We enter the mausoleum.
