City of the Dead is in The North Corridor at the foot of the cliff marking the border with The Heights. It is bounded by Tailor Street on the south, Studio Lane on the east and Chambard’s Way to the north.
The main entrance is on Studio Lane where it meets Ware Street. While the park is enclosed by a tall iron fence, there are many smaller entrances scattered around the perimeter. There are no gates on any of the entrances and citizens are free to wander where they will.
Originally established as a cemetary, it became the city’s largest park park long ago when Havenites abandoned the practice of burying their dead inside the city walls. Now only the noble and richest families still actively bury their dead here in family mausoleums. Some of these are rumoured to “contain” extradimensional rooms.
The park features crafty sculptures, astounding mausoleums, beautiful trees and bushes, and curly walkways that allow visitors to walk and see all of its splendors. It looks most astounding at night when hundreds of driftglobes light the paths.
