Turin and Penelope search the next corridor but find nothing. We keep exploring, and Eugene sees another flail snail. Turin runsp and shoots it, and Arada stabs it and runs away. The snail runsp to flail at Arada knocking her out. Eugene drags her back and Martin heals her, killing the snail with his Spirit Guardians.
Looking down the hallway, we see a large vaguely humanoid shambling thing that appears to be made out of dirt and rock.

Turin decides to shoot it, doing some damage. We think. Eugene webs the room it is in. Arada shoots it with her bow, and Martin briefly puts it into his glowy death circle. The creature gets stuck in the web, givings a chance to shoot it like a fish in a barrel.
Turns out really nasty monsters who spend the entire fight restrained are not as tough as they ought to be.
We investigate the room, that looks like itsed to be a torture chamber which has been converted into a summoning circle. There is a dead body to the side wearing robes. It appears to be the summoner. The body has a spellbook and components for summoning elementals.
The body looks familiar tos. We recognize him from the competition. The formerly dead rust monster summoner. The mystery deepens.
We go to the remaining door which is locked. There is no sound coming from the other side. Arada opens it, and there seems to be another small corridor and locked door which Arada alsonlocks. Inside is annconscious Lyza. Martinses the last of his healing to try to get people toppedp, including Lyza who isnconscious on the floor. It seems to be a room to hold a slightly more valuable prisoner.
We can probably carry Lyza out, especially since she doesn’t have her armor or weapons. Penelope carries Lyza so Turin can keep his hands free if we need. On the way out, we also check the summoning circle to make sure it is disturbed. Eugene does a sweep and doesn’t find anything magical.
We go back to where we left the ship captain who is not here. We discover a trap door we did not see before. We open it and see a ladder going down. At the bottom is a passageway leading off in some direction. Our best guess is this passage goes south.
We follow the tunnel, which appears to be rough hewn and put here for a purpose. It goes quite a ways. Turin finds a new set of fresh tracks (probably the ship captain). After maybe 400 feet or so we find another ladder goingp. Arada climbsp and finds herself in a small cave where the far end is covered in brush and shrubbery. We exit through the opening. The elves think they can see Gallows Hill to the south ofs. We are outside the city wall.

Nears is a cart and a horse. The horse looks like a good strong draft horse, and the cart is in good shape. Turinses a spell to talk to the horse. The horse says a big guy brought him out and left him there. We assume it is help from Arada’ s friends.
We put our tabards back on and take the horse and go towards Horse Gate. We get backnchallenged and the guards lets in with a weird look. It is around 2am, so the cart bridges are closed but we could get back to the Griffon on foot.
We leave the cart at the Southbridge barracks, and go across the pedestrian bridge. We don’t think we are being tailed as we return to the Griffon.
We get Thom to look at Lyza. She goes into ger2018er done mode and sends Turin and Penelope to get the spare bed and take it to Thom’s lab. The rest ofs carry Lyza down. And for the first time we get to see Thom’s lab. We get Lyza settled in as Thom tries to figure out what has happened.
We get her settled, and gop to rest.
