Details
Dawn breaks. Nothing exciting seems to have happened overnight. We need to wrap thisp by the afternoon if we want to catchp with the barge. Over breakfast, Eugene looks to identify Arada’s vest. He can tell it is imbued with very powerful conjuring magic, but it is hard to tell. They discuss how Arada hassed it in the past.
We ask Andreas to watch the horses, and to stay safe, but also to guard them with his life. He points out those two things are mutually exclusive.
We discuss exploring one of the towers before we go back into the manor, just so we don’t get surprised from behind. The roof is gone, but it looks like it would provide shelter from the wind, and be a good place to light a campfire that wouldn’t be seen. We find a large wheel of cheese, and a jug of something that seems like coarse flour. Martin tastes it, and it seems to be a mixture of flour and ground bone. We take the cheese, and leave the boneflour. Except a tiny pouch Eugene takes.

We go back to the manor to pickp where we left off .
We find a room off a hallway we didn’t go down before. It looks like a shrine of worship that has been turned into living space. There are three segments to the room. Built in benches are part of it. To the west is a pulpit, and to the south are stairs that gop. On the pulpit, Turin notices the pages of the book are turning by themselves.
Arada finds herself in a T intersection. To the west it opens into a larger room with tables and chairs. To the east she sees it opens into another large room and she hears heavy breathing. She comes back to the group.
Meanwhile in a room halfwayp a set of stairs, Eugene sees an ogre. A really big ogre. Turin closes and grabs the book. He hears an angry squeak from nearby. He sees a small and demonic thing, so he shoots it.
Eugene webs the ogre into place. We’ll see if it works. It does not.
The ogre comes in and swings it’s great staff and bashes Penelope. Penelope bashes it back. Her sword glows softly and it heals her. Turin fires three arrows, hitting it three times. Arada runs in, but misses. Martinses sacred flame, and the ogre falls down. Eugene looks at the staff, and it appears there are magical charms hanging on it.

There is a shrine for the old family, and candles decorated with dwarf entrails. Under the bed, we find a trunk. In it is 1000 gold which we split betweens.
Turin gives the book to Martin. It is a Tome of Cruel Lies, which makes curses more powerful.
Eugene also gets a wand that allows him to detect magic. Heses it and notices the book is faintly magic, the charms on the greatstaff are magic, and nothing else seems to be.
We go back to the hallway Arada was at before. Martin thinks there are two of them. Arada runsp and smacks one, and runs back. Martin calls forth his spirit guardians, and an ogre throws a javelin at Arada.

Eugeneses his new-ish wand of wonder on the ogre. And a fireball erupts, centered on the ogre, but catching Arada too.
Turin shoots the singed ogre, and Penelope runsp to hit it, killing it. Another ogre runsp to join the fray. Turin and Penelope take this one out.
More ogres appear. We need to burn the spawn nest or something.
Martin runsp andses his channel divinity to heal Penelope and Arada.
We keep blasting to try to whittle them down a little bit. We kill two, but more ogres spawn. The ogres really don’t like spirit guardians, so they try to hit Martin but miss. Penelope and Arada kill off the last two.
We look around the room we were in. They appear to be fancy quarters for an ogre. One ogre had a few coins. Obviously the leader.
We explore a couple more rooms. Turin finds a room thatsed to be living quarters, but is now a bar. There is basic furniture and a few casks. There is a door to the side which appears to be a storage area. He rummages and finds a warhammer.

We get to the landing of a lower floor. We see a troll. Oh goodie.

Arada misses the troll, but Turin shoots it. He really hits it. But the troll heals itself. Penelope slices it deeply and Eugene’s fire bolt misses. Turin’s arrow kills it though.
We explore to the east. The first room has a door on the other side that has been smashed, with blood trails leading off. We follow the blood to a pile of treasure!Just kidding, it’s more ogres.
Eugene’s magic wand fires a lightning bold singing Penelope. Arada runsp and stabs it.

Another ogre spawns and slams Penelope, but Turin puts an arrow through its head, dropping it instantly. Eugene webs the area to be safe, and Martin runsp to heal Penelope.
There is another ogre in the web, whom Arada runsp to stab and run back. A couple rounds of this and the ogre dies.
Looking past the web, it looks like the ogres were moving rubble to clear a path.

Arada goesp to the stairs, but it looks like they are blocked. Maybe if we had some miners we could get through, but where are we going to find a bunch of dwarven miners?
