The next morning, the priestess mentions she heard something up and about last night. We tell her nothing happened. Nobody broke in. Nobody got hurt because they were trying to break in.

Martin suggests passing on the message that part of the curse might be that violence against werewolves could cause the curse to come back. We don’t know that it doesn’t. Eugene wants to be logical.

After a while, Florimin comes back. She says people seem to be buying the story, but they should still be careful.

But there is a commotion going on at the Georgeson mansion/town hall. She says she is headed across the street to see what is going on. Martin and Penelope go with her.

There are people standing around, and the door to the town hall seems to have been broken open from the outside. It looks like it has been shouldered open.

Florin asks why it is broken down. A guy comes from inside and says they are tired of not knowing what is going on so they decided to find out. They did and he’s dead. In his sons room, just dead.

The three ofs go to the son’s room. Georgeson is curledp at the foot of the bed. Florin checks him and says he’s dead.

The body is cool to the touch and shows no signs of external injury. Florin goes to make some arrangements. Penelope brings the body over to the temple.

We hear the muttering about magic, werewolves, grief, etc. We decide to take an hour to just look around to see if we can figure out what might have happened. In the residence side of the house, we find a few strange things. Toys strewn about, water dripped on a painting of the boy (which tastes vaguely salty). The boy’s bed is pristine, as if waiting for the boy to come home.

The cupboard looksntouched, like he hasn’t been eating. Eugene examines the body and finds nothing.

With nothing else to do, we head out of town.

We spend a couple more days headingpriver to Oakridge where nothing eventful happens.

We eventually make it to the town of Oakridge mid-morning on the 25th. Down by the docks there are a couple cranes. There is a temple on the hill. Your basic town.

There is no market per se, but there are a few shops.

A shopkeeper askss if we are here for business or pleasure. Martin mentions we are here on adventurers business. We are from Haven, we’re adventurers, we heard a rumor about a lost mine, dragon in it, thesual.

He says there is a mine and it is the source of a lot of the town’s wealth, but there were a lot of miners killed, and Mayor Taryon has ordered it lockedp. He suggests going to the inn if we want more information.

The inn is the basic wooden stone country inn. Ivy on the outside, wooden floors on the inside. Thesual crown on the inside. There is a beefy boy behind the bar.

We order four ales and a wine, and some stew. We also mention we’ve heard about some mine trouble. He says we should talk to Diggy the miner.

We approach Diggy. He says we should talk to Cham who is next to him. So Martin turns to Cham and says that his acquaintance Diggy told him to talk to her.

Cham says the mayor opened the mine a few months ago, and there was a call for miners so the four of them heeded the call. There was a monster in the mine that killed Jackie and the others. It was a mess. They got out, and the mayor closed it off. This was a week or so ago.

None of them had seen the monster. They heard screams but saw nothing. The monster made a basic roar. They were mining iron, but they heard rumors theresed to be gems in the mine.

If we want to help we should talk to Gingar Terion. He sometimes comes in for lunch, or we could go to his house out of town. Martin suggests Arada should negotiate our fee as she is better at haggling.

After a little while, a distinguished gentleman appears at the door and goes to the bar then retires into a side room.

Cham wanders over and tellss that was the mayor. Arada gets on the table and introduces herself as the solution to all his problems.

He says he’s sent for a squad of soldiers. She says we’re here. She asks if we wants it solved or people to be pretty.

He says Theresia told him to get soldiers from Brighton. Arada convinces him with the nat 20 Eugene foresaw.

He offers a bit of gold and treasure that “wouldn’t be minable” . I. e. treasure.

She also makes sure he’ll include supplies. Arada via Eugene also suggests adding the first five pounds of anything mineable. And our stay at the inn. He agrees and says after lunch he’d talk to the merchants and get the key.

A little after lunch the mayor comes back and tellss everything is arranged. The mine is a half days ridep the road.

We ride to the mine, with extra rope and supplies, and camp for our adventure in the morning.
