In the morning we get an envelope that says “Tonight, she’ll be there at The Midnight Oil with friends. ”
The day ’ s patrol isneventful, and that evening we go out to The Midnight Oil which is in the north section along Nobles Way. The bar sign is a bed on fire.
We get a table in the inn. It is full. We order a round of brown ale. We also ask if she has ever seen Antonio and his girlfriend around. We describe Antonio and she thinks she vaguely recognizes him. Penelope thinks she sees a possible candidate near the fireplace. Arada goes over to scope her out. She overhears a bunch of standard late teens social gossip. The girl is a little better off than her compatriots.
Eugene considerssing the Detect Thoughts to see if the girl is our mark. Before that, he chooses tose the message cantrip to message her. They have a short mental conversation. She ’ s skeptical, and wants to know who we are. Eugene says we are friends of Claudia De la Riis. She suspects we are sent by Paul De la Riis who is one of the leaders of the Young Stallions.
Adelade sidles next to Arada and asks why she is hiding down there. Arada says people watching. A drunk halfling comes to make conversation. The halfling named Prithin tries a pickup line on Arada. Aradases this as an excuse to go sit with the girls. Meanwhile the tiefling who was at the bar acts as a bouncer to kick Prithin out. The girl is Isabella. There is also Marita, Sybella, and Agatha. Arada introduces herself as Notia. Marita says her boyfriend is great and his name is Antonio. Arada asks if they are serious. Arada shmoozes. Marita tells a story that matches with the story we are expected. Arada offers to help if she can. She says she is a romantic and girls gotta stick together. Arada offers to help without pushing too hard. She gets mild resistance, but seems to think three days from now makes sense to meet again.
Arada fillssin and suggests we leave.
A drunk half elf approachess and tries to pick a fight with Martin then Turin. Martin sends him to the girls and leaves. We leave before the bar fight.
We go back to the Giggling Griffon. As we start to go to sleep, we feel the ground shake. We get the lurching sensation in our stomachs. This one feels really bad. Martin runs to the window. It is Earthday the 6th.
