As we go back to the entrance, we see another pendulum horror like we fought before. Arada runs up and stabs it. Penelope engages, and Martin sacred flames it. Turin seriously injures it, shooting over Penelope who is doing her best impression of a wall.

It hits Penelope, injuring her. Which causes Arada to get mad. Penelope then finishes it off.
We are mildly concerned where these things are still coming from. We return up the slope to the door we came through originally.
We explore more of the upper mine. As we get back to the entrance, we see bandit-like people.
Arada engages them. We have a fight on our hands. Even though we were spread out at the start of the fight, we quickly close ranks.
One goes down and another is nearly down, though Penelope and Martin both get hurt. Eugene flies in and webs the survivors. Martin tries to convince them to surrender, without much luck. So Turin starts blasting.
We hear a voice from around the corner who says “look up ”. A sell-sword leaps at Eugene and tries to grapple him. Another sell-sword tries to run, and gets hurt by Penelope and Martin, and exploded by Eugene.
Eugene sleeps one of them. There may be a lot of them, but they aren’t doing great. The guy on the cliff shoots down again and slips off the cliff. The damage is flying, mostly at them.
They all die, except for the one sleeping, who is going to benhappy when they wakep.
We search the bodies, and find a collection of light crossbows, longswords, and shortswords. Arada also tiesp the prisoner.
We wake himp, and Arada questions him while Eugeneses detect thoughts.
Why are you here?-We were told to protect the mine from anyone inside?
Who hired you to do that?-I’m not sure, I go by what the boss says
I’ve got bad news, your boss isn’t your boss anymore.
. The surface thoughts are confusion .

Tell me about your boss?-He’s mean. He kicks people’s asses for breakfast
What does he look like?-Big dude. 6’6 ”, Human. Doesn’t wear a lot of armor

Eugene comments it isn’t the mine manager
“Who’s the mine manager? We were told the miners were all gone ”
Why did you try to jumps?-we were told there shouldn’t be anyone in the mine and to get rid of them
Do I look like a thief?-Thoughts of irony
I’m too small to be a thief. -Sure, you’re not a thief, but what about them?
. Could we maybe get dinner sometime at the bar in town?
How many of you are there? - More outside.
Will they be a problem?-You’ll protect me, right?
How many? -Maybe 5 or six?
What’s your name? -Bummy. Bummy Gears.
What’s the name of the jerk outside?- Trench Foast
How long have you been here?-Since early this morning.
You stay here, I’ll be back-I don’t really have much choice.

We make a tentative plan to take a rest in the hut to get resources back, and to leave after that,sing Bummy as a bit of a shield.
Martin sends a message to the person who hireds. “We’ve cleaned out a bunch of monsters. There are some sellswords here who claim they’ve been hired to guard the mine. Did you hire a Trench Foot? ”-The reply is “I have no idea what you are talking about ”
We bring Bummy into the hut withs.
Turin takes first watch, keeping an eye on the entrance.

After an hour or so, we hear the door open. Turin sees someone come in. The person looks around and ducks back out. After a bit, the door opens again, and someone trying to stealth their way in with someone else behind them.
Turin raps on the hut and Arada goes out with him. We arep to three lackeys. Arada rolls her eyes about the lack of stealth on their part. The torches aren’t helping.
The one at the front sees the bodies and says “oh shit ”. The other two hold position.
Turin casts spike growth. It is on. The one in back manages to flee out back the door, while the other two push in towardss. Turin takes one out, and the other tries to close, without much success.
We quickly debate if we should rush out, or wait. We decide to go, with Arada trying to convince Bummy to go out first to get his friends to go home. This works and he does.
He takes a step through the door, “guys, you gotta go home, there is a girl who will go on a date with me if you go home now ”
We hear angry voices saying “what the fuck are you talking about? ” Then we hear a loud thump and no more yelling.
Requiescat in pace Bummy.
Martin bonds Penelope, Arada, and Turin. Aim for the bushes .
