Laydi exists somewhat outside the main pantheon and some stories say she is from “elsewhere”. Many others believe she is the true creator and birthed serindë and ladros.
Laydi rules over luck, in all its forms and is the patron of gamblers and risk takers everywhere. Some of her worshipers believe that with devotion to her, their own fortunes can be improved. Others believe that their devotion to her is a practical way of giving thanks for their own fortune.
Her gift to the races of man was the diversity between individuals and between the races themselves. Because of this, many believe that the Halflings are her favored race, as they are perceived to be unnaturally lucky. Oddly enough, Halflings overall have rejected this belief, thinking instead that their proclivity to luckiness is just another characteristic of their race, and are a little uncomfortable about the idea that there is a god watching all of them.
Her most common holy symbol is a truncated diamond, and many worshipers will have a small piece of malachite carved into this image. However there are also dozens of lesser holy symbols, and her worshipers will usually carry two to three of these charms to garner her favor.
