Istara rules over all things magical and is the patron of wizards, sorcerers, and any others who draw on themselves for magic.
Unlike any of the other Firstborn, Istara has only one parent, Laydi. Whether there was a father, another mother, or was born through parthenogenesis is not known. She is said to be unfavored, as those who would most benefit from her blessings are also those who are least prone to worship, namely the practitioners of the arcane arts.
She created the weave, the flow of arcane energy that allows magic to happen, and it is said that those born with the spontaneous gift of magic are touched by her.
Her holy symbol is a chariot, based on the constellation Agrae with its eight stars, one representing each school of magic.
