They also receive a promised reward from Brel as well as renown inside their faction. Word spreads of their heroism and they become more popular in the City of Splendors. If characters decide to bring Rani and Haral to justice, Brel quickly calls a magister who makes his judgment and chooses punishment according to the Code Legal:- Imprisonment for 3 months for Haral and 1.5 month for Rani (due to her noble status)- Fine equal to 1500 gp which they must pay both, by coin or hard labor.# Outcome 1: Hiding the Truth Characters imprison the ghost back in the mirror and tell their quest giver and City Watch that job is done. This outcome means that when another burial occurs / other grave robbers stalk in the mausoleum, the history will repeat.If they talk with Shifalra when she returns to the city the day after and explain their findings, she rewards them with 300 gp. She tells them to keep the story secret, promising to become their enemy if they don't.If characters part with Shifalra on good terms, she can offer them to work for her in the future. She tells the characters a full story and explains that the last hag, Ursula, is still alive somewhere. Shifalra believes that the hag's death could also break the curse, and promises characters to pay handsomely if they manage to kill her.# Outcome 2: Lifting the Curse Characters manage to find Nesan's notes and lift the curse by telling the City Watch and their quest giver the truth. However, they make enemies of Phylund family and Shifalra Phylund personally, which will surely make their lives more complicated in the City of Splendors. # Rewards / XP At the end of Part III, characters should reach 4th level.
