# Outline
Tasked with ending The Howl, the party must decide whether to - attack Melluria and commit themselves to slaying the sanguine werewolf pack, or
- help Melluria break the curse. She wants to be cured, but in her troubled state, the hybrid sanguine werewolf Melluria sits helplessly until the party engages her.

# If the party attacks Melluria
She defends herself, feebly fighting back and crying for mercy in a distorted, growling voice until fleeing out the window when reduced to half her maximum hit points.

Player characters who hunt Melluria and the rest of the pack eventually encounter a total of ==thirteen sanguine werewolves== : - seven are hostile and fight to the death,
- three are indifferent and can be convinced to accept a cure with a successful DC 15 Charisma (Persuasion)check, and
- three are friendly and wish to be cured, like Melluria.

# If the party approaches Melluria calmly
Even after initially attacking her, she responds in kind.

With a gravelly voice, Melluria
asks for help and - explains that she tried to study her condition with the Abjurer's Compendium, but lost the ability to read and write
- admits to eating some of Gredel's cow, Cream, after other werewolves killed it and left the remains outside.
- still struggles to control her curse, she caused no harm to the nearby villages

# Curing the Werewolves
Player characters who read the Abjurer's Compendium **or** succeed on a DC 13 Intelligence (Arcana) check determine that Melluria and other lycanthropes can be cured with the special *Remove Curse* in the book, and that *Moonbeam* can temporarily return a shapeshifter to their original form. While the book allows an attuned wielder of any class to cast the spell in the book as a ritual, the wielder must be able to cast 3rd spells.

After learning the cure, if the party is willing but currently unable to cure Melluria, she requests to join the party until they acquire the proper magical training. Otherwise Melluria insists on keeping the book so she may one day cure herself, even fighting the party to take it and flee if necessary. Once cured, Melluria and other former lycanthropes return to their homes, or find new ones far away if other werewolves remain in the wood.

# Completion
After killing or curing the sanguine werewolves, the villagers reward the party with a feast and commemorate this day for years to come as the day your heroes ended The Howling. At the gamemaster's discretion, the god of chaos and blood who created the sanguine werewolves may seek revenge against the party.
