To the side of the church is an unholy graveyard.

 > A foul, funky smell comes from the graveyard. Fog lies on the ground and you see a scattering of headstones and crypts. Some of the graves are still fresh. The dead feel very close.

There are graves the adventurers can visit. If they go to a burial, you will need to roll a 1d10 to determine what the encounter will be.

| 1d10 | Encounter |
|---|---|
| 1 | A Reanimated Hand scuttles out of the grave and attacks. |
| 2 | Five coppet bits have been left to pay safe passageway to the dead. The coins are cursed! A character can take the money but will permanently lose 1HP per coin they take. They cannot give the coin back, lose it or get rid of it in any way other than having it stolen from them unknowingly at which point their HP maximum will be restored. At the DM's discretion, increase the HP loss for higher level characters. |
| 3 | A Skeleton Nun steps out of a new crypt and surprises the adventurers. The Skeleton Nun receives one extra attack before the group can respond. |
| 4 | A weathered map is pinned to a grave marker. It shows the church and has two rooms labeled. The DM can decide which two rooms they want to reveal to the group. |
| 5 | There is a flash of lightning followed by a distant rumble of thunder. Heavy rain is coming. |
| 6 | There is a small potion bottle. It is corked closed. A label on the side says “sleep.” Anyone who drinks the potion will fall immediately into a deep sleep for 1 hour or until they take damage. |
| 7 | A small, pink box with 6 shortbreads are lying on a fresh grave. Eating a shortbread will restore 2 HP to a maximum of 4 per character. |
| 8 | You see a grave digger. He has just finished filling in a new grave. You can bribe (1SP) or threaten him (he is a coward and will back down quickly). He does not know much about what happens in the church. He can tell you that there is a trap on the floor when you enter the Narthex. |
| 9 | A Blind Rat leaps out of a fresh grave, its mouth oozing with congealed blood. |
| 10 | A single red flower rests next to the headstone. This is one sign that love can find a way in this world of terror. |
