# Outline
The outside of the church is dark and forbidding. The church is located five miles from the nearest village. It sits on the top of a small hill in the middle of a thick wood. The fog is extensive. You can see 500 ft during the daytime, but this drops to 50ft at night.

> Out of the clinging fog emerges a church and you see twin towers capped with grotesque statues. The large, heavy doors are closed. On one side of the church is a small graveyard. On the other side is a small building. As you walk closer to the church, you hear the sound of rhythmic chanting. Someone is home.

Before entering the church, the adventurers will see that two huge ironwood doors are closed. High above them on the roof are winged stone statues. The adventurers need to roll a D15 dexterity to check if they can open the doors without waking a statue. If the adventurers fail, then a status will jump down and attack them.

> Closed, twelve-foot ironwood doors prevent you from entering the Dark Church. Looking up, you see winged statues at the top of each tower. The fog somehow feels colder.
