# Outline
The [[person/dark-mother-superior]] is standing at the Alar, chanting her litany to the dark god.

 > There is an altar with an older woman with short, straight blonde hair standing at it. She is quite tall with leathery, reddish skin. She has her back to the church and is facing the Altar. In one hand, she holds an unusual dagger, and in the other, she is clutching a book. The Altar is ablaze in ethereal light. The woman is chanting, calling on the dead to come back to life. "Hear me, all mighty dead, and join us in our dance!"
 
 
Behind the Altar you will see the secret passage if you have answered the ghost's riddle. If you have not spoken to the ghost, you can roll a <u>DC 15 Intelligence (Investigation) to reveal the secret passage</u>. To get to the secret passageway without disturbing the [[person/dark-mother-superior]], the adventurers will need <u>DC 12 Dexterity (Stealth).</u>
 
The adventurers can try to speak with The Dark Mother. A <u>DC 15 Charisma will be needed for her to talk to you</u>. If you are successful, and she does speak to you, she will try and convince you to join her Dark Sisterhood and become Dark Monks. If you choose to become Dark Monks, then your life is forfeit. 
 
You can also roll a <u>DC 15 Intelligence (Religion) to explain in religious terms to the Dark Mother that she has lost her way</u>. Your words soothe the Dark Mother's tortured soul. She converts her beliefs to a neutral deity and retreats for prayer and contemplation. If you fail, she will attack.
