CT: Scaling Monster Numbers

```col-md
# Outline
**Monster #s by Party Size**
| Party Size     | Increase number by   |
|---|---|
| 5-8     | x 1.5   |
| 9-12   | x 2   |
| 13      | x 2.5   |
 **Monster #s by Party Level**
| Party Level     | Increase number by   |
|---|---|
| 5-8      | x 1.5   |
| 9-12    | x 2   |
| 13       | x 2.5   |
| 16+     | X 3.5   |
Use the tables at right to determine adjustments for party size and level and then multiply these numbers together.
For instance, if you have a Party Size of 5 with an average Party Level of 10, then you would add 1.5 + 2.5 to get 4 times the monsters.
Three creatures for a level 10 party are not a challenge, especially if there are 6 or 7 PC's. Increase that to 12, and suddenly you have a challenge. Feel free to adjust as you see fit.
In addition to scaling monsters, many of the traps and puzzles in the game have a sliding scale that the DM can use to change the level of difficulty depending on the skillset of the characters.
