Special Abilities

Incorporeal Movement

The Paradox Phantom can move through other creatures and objects as if they were difficult terrain. It takes 5 force damage if it ends its turn inside an object.

Actions

Multiattack.

The Paradox Phantom makes two temporal touch attacks.

Temporal Touch

Melee Spell Attack: +4 to hit , reach 5 ft., one target.

Hit: 9 force damage, and the target must succeed on a DC 16 Wisdom saving throw or suffer from a time echo. A creature suffering from a time echo relives the pain of the Paradox Phantom’s attacks at the start of each of its turns, taking 3 psychic damage. The time echo effects last until the creature finishes a short or long rest, or until the creature benefits from the Lesser Restoration spell or similar magic, which removes all instances of time echo.

Description

Born from raw temporal energy, the Paradox Phantom is an eerie and unsettling presence. Manifesting as an insubstantial clockwork figure that flickers like an old film reel, the Phantom constantly shifts in and out of time, appearing both in the past and the future simultaneously. This constant temporal flux makes it extremely difficult to land a solid hit on the Phantom. Those who fight it will find the Phantom can reach out with a spectral hand to touch its foes, leaving them with a painful echo of the past that persists even after the initial contact. Those touched by a Paradox Phantom often report feeling as though they are reliving their most painful memories, a debilitating effect that can turn the tide of a battle in the Phantom’s favor. Truly, to fight a Paradox Phantom is to wage a war against time itself.
