# General Info
A powerful woman in her forties, she is a former adventurer and a formidable warrior. She takes her responsibilities seriously and she expects a lot from her people.  
 
After several years of adventuring she joined the Watch as a sergeant and worked her way up from there. Her superiors have indicated the next Station Captain post that becomes vacant will be hers, but after a year of waiting she came up with another idea.  Mostly, the Watch does basic keeping of the peace in their assigned areas and while this is usually good enough, Lyza saw the need for a small group that can move around the City as needed and do deeper investigations. When she took the idea to Watch Commander [[person/mikyl-swiftsword|Mikyl Swiftsword]], she was turned down flat.
 
Not one to give up easily, she took the idea to a few local members of the [[organization/council-of-boroughs|Council of Boroughs]] where it gained some traction. The convinced her to approach [[person/harz-de-la-riis|Harz de la Riis]], another councillor and a member  of the nobility. With de la Riis as a champion for the idea, the council and mayor agreed to to establish a new command within the [[organization/haven-city-watch|Haven City Watch]] on a trial basis. If after one year the group proved its worth and had continued support from the council - and gained support of [[person/mikyl-swiftsword|Mikyl Swiftsword]] - the unit would be made permanent.
 
Since Watch Commander Swiftsword knows which side of his bread is buttered, he agreed to the trial with Lyza and the unit under his direct supervision. Since none of the other Watch captains were willing to provide staffing to Lyza, she was required to draw directly from recent Academy graduates.
 
This is where the Haven Irregulars campaign starts, with Lyza having just chosen her initial team. Since the creation of the Haven Irregulars was her idea and something she pushed for, its success is very important to Lyza.
