Effects

Its power can be used as a bonus action to recapture the spell the imbiber cast that round. Once used to recapture a spell, the potion’s power fades away.

In practical terms, if a wizard drank the potion and cast a fifth-level fireball spell, the wizard could then recapture that spell and have the ability to cast that same spell at the same level one more time without using a spell slot. No spell substitutions are allowed.
